Their release left out that he was the head spammer at Post Communications (postdirect.com).

NetCentives acquired Post Communications and Kevin was their SVP until they were delisted by NASDAQ and filed for bankruptcy. The loyaltyware "tricks" (aka "methods" to those that aren't occasionally robbed by them) that NetCentives (aka ClickRewards, MaxMiles, etc) had patented were sold off and licensed to various parties, while the "email operation" was sold back to Post's old founder (Hans B) at his new Plum job.

So KHJ's been at the root of online loyaltyware - this article sheds some light into the patent situation and how it's embedded in today's rewards programs:

I expect eBates will lean heavily on his email expertise. I expect them to leverage that into more services offered to the merchant partners and other partners of various types. I'm no fan of it, but that's why I think they went after him.

Personally, I think MyPoints would fear this move - MyPoints relies HEAVILY on email and eBates hasn't been anywhere close to their level of pounding via inboxes everywhere, but Kevie's gonna change that for sure.
