Another One Bites The Dust

And another gone, and another one gone, and another one bites the dust……

That would apparently be DirectRevenue. Affirmation of my general philosophy that what goes around comes around..eventually. A business model built upon bullshit just isn’t sustainable long-term. At some point, no matter how much spin is put out there and to how much the spinners may start believing their own spin, someone who has the ability is going to come along smell the stink and lower the big whammy. No one is immune. No one. A fact that a few others should be heeding at the moment.

Now for the beautiful sight to my eyes.

The current BestOffers web site, which was the site where DirectRevenue had some of their bundled software downloads.

A GMail addy for email support for anyone still trying to get their software uninstalled? Hahaha.

And the CPVMarket web site which was the “Ad Agency” site where they sold ads:

Amazingly enough, DirectRevenue is still providing a separate software application to install in order to uninstall their adware. This practice is something they got hit with by the FTC (Section 15 h).

Wait…we heard for years how easy their software was to install. Yeah right. Well the end result of all their above board business practices seems to have culminated in DirectRevenue being put out of business.

Of course, the principals behind DirectRevenue have a history of of just starting a new adware project when their welcome has been worn out. DirectRevenue followed their IPInsight venture. But this time around just staring a new adware company may not be so easy for them. Part of the Settlement Agreement with the FTC orders to the principals to inform the FTC of any new business ventures they may being on the Internet (Section XII).

The Internet is a better place with the passing of DirectRevenue. I say good riddance and hopefully we’ll see some more follow along these same lines.

Edited To Add:

I’m not the only one celebrating. PaperGhost over at VitalSecurity is a happy camper over this one as well. Not without reason considering his past efforts on the DirectRevenue front.
