Are you a bit riled up there Catwoman? LOL. Thanks for sending the info to some folks. But as they say, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

As competition increases for affiliates with an increasing amount of that competiton coming from major corporations, mid to small affiliates will need to become more savvy, adaptable and knowledgable in maximizing their profits.

I do think that going into 2007, affiliates are going to become more "in your face" aware of what is going on, but more importantly begin seeing some steps they can take to protect their revenue. ;)

I find it pretty sad that only 3 affiliates posted in this thread, and two of us are already more knowledgeable about spyware than the average affiliate. I sent the link to several people I know who would benefit from this and I'm very disappointed that not a single one of them even bothered to show up!

You try to help others by offering them something for free that would really help them and they don't even want it. But if you offered them $100 in free ppc advertising that are full of spyware they probably couldn't jump on it fast enough and then they'd wonder why they didn't get a single sale from it! This makes me MAD.

I think a lot of people like to bitch a lot but don't want to lift a finger to educate themselves, even when it's free. Stick your head in the sand and pretend there's nothing wrong. Makes perfect sense. A lot easier to stay in the dark and less upsetting than to face the reality that they're losing money every day.

Or maybe they just have more money than they can spend so they don't mind paying for Kellie's service? :)

I felt this was an important way to give back to our industry - to help fellow affiliates become better informed about the issues we all face and to learn how to decipher them into actionable business decisions. Kellie / AFP is a tremendous resource for any affiliate and I look forward to seeing the contest winner receive the benefits of their AFP membership!

Well RhinoFish, it's quite generous of you! I don't see many affiliates taking advantage of this great opportunity. :( I'll send this link to a few people who would truly benefit from Kellie's knowledge and reports. And Kellie, you're the best!!! :)

Hi Kathy,

It can be confusing and it's getting more and more complex each day it seems. Part of the purpose of the Service is to help people have a better understanding. You aren't alone in the confusion. :) We have an area of dicussion for each area of reports just for that purpose. Some things are pretty cut and dry. A list of all known Merchants who partner with Adware X is pretty straight forward. Other things like particular behaviors an adware application is engaging in can become more technical. PPCSE ads been directed through several companies before showing in adware as click fraud and an affiliate forced click can be a head spinner. :) Not knowing that any of that stuff (and more) is going on can mean lost revenue and even unintentional TOS violations for the affiliate with their Merchants or Networks. So we try to keep the technical gibberish as minimal as possible and provide assistance in understanding what is being reported as well as the implications of what is being reported.

Thanks for stopping by and posting your interest.

Your offer looks like a great one and have a feeling due to my dumminess on this subject I'm probably in great need of it. lol To be honest though, from reading all about it..am afriad if I do win it, I'm not going to have a clue as to understanding it. Hope if I were to win, there will be somebody to help me understand it. I'm afriad I have a long way to go before I understand all of this. I've made attempts and I think the more I learn about all of it the more there is to confuse me.:)
